Business owners need to build trust with people in order to have sales. As a business owner you need to figure out ways to do this. There are many ways to make the trust building process easy and successful but one way is to do online networking.

When done properly, online networking will build traffic to your website which could in turn bring in more customers or clients. It's also the best way to build trust with potential customers or clients.

When you do networking online it's different than the way you do it at a live event. There are many different websites for online networking. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are three of the most popular sites right now but there are many more. You can do a search for social networking sites and find a number of other networking sites to use.

First thing you need to do with each of these sites and any others that you decide to use, is to set up a profile. Each one is different, but they are pretty easy to do. Just follow the steps and before long you will be ready to go. They usually will have a frequently asked questions section if you need help.

Now that your profile is up and running, you are ready to start connecting. Here is a brief description for each of the three listed above.

1. Facebook

Facebook is completely different than Twitter. You set up a profile, list your businesses and anything else you have going on. People can leave posts on your wall and so much more. Facebook also has groups that you can join. You will find groups that are specific to types of businesses, types of people, and more.

Facebook is a great way to connect with clients, customers, old friends, family, and others. You network by posting on walls and in groups.

2. LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a way to show people what you can do and for others to recommend you to people. Your profile contains your education, current and past positions you have held, links to business and blog sites, people you would recommend, people who would recommend you, and your friends.

LinkedIn is a great place to send potential clients if they are a little wary about using your services or purchasing from you. You can either send them directly toyour site through a link or you can have a button listed on your site that will take them to your profile.

LinkedIn also has groups, but these are specifically for networking. You learn, help, and meet new people through these groups. You will find corporate groups, business groups, and type specific groups.

3. Twitter

Twitter is described as the online water cooler. You still set up a profile but rather than joining groups, you write short updates about what you're doing or about your latest product. Twitter only allows message less than 140 characters so it's very easy to write multiple tweets during the day to promote your business and to form relationships with other business owners.

Networking online is almost better than advertising your business in other ways. You will find people that are truly interested in your business and what you offer when you network the proper way. The three sites listed above are business oriented and will help you grow your business through networking.

You know you have to find a way to get your site visitors to have some trust in you, but caution is necessary if you surf around the net looking for information on doing it. Yes, gaining trust from your traffic can be a tricky undertaking, but we can still get you there or on your way, at least.

Everybody in business on the net knows all too well how easy it is to get lost and never to be noticed. If you really want your readers to understand who you are and trust you then you need to go beyond the regular 'About Us' content and add some real pictures of yourself with it. If you've got a team then publish a group photo of all the team members or you can even go a step further and snap pictures of your workplace so that you can publish them on your website. People like knowing who they are dealing with, and even if you think it is a dumb idea - it is not. There is never any guarantee that people will even believe the pictures you put up, but not everybody is so cynical on the net.

The kind of content that you publish on your website does play a role when it comes down to winning the trust of your visitors. We hope this is a totally obvious point, but nobody will stay with you for long if your content is low quality. Always make sure that the content that you're giving away on your website should be valuable. You can seriously hurt your reputation in your niche by becoming known as somebody who cannot be trusted because your content misses the mark. They have to be able to grasp what you are telling them, and that all goes back to talking to them in their language. Never do your research at the article directories because that is where every other lazy marketer does theirs.

If your sites do not have a means by which your visitors can get in touch with you, then that is a very good reason why things are misfiring. For the very best impression possible, get a cheap 800 number and give that out to your visitors. The funny thing about this is there's an excellent chance nobody will ever call. This is just good public relations, really, and sure if someone needs help and they call, then take care of them - no big deal. But you should go beyond everything to separate yourself from this shady crowd of Internet marketers and webmasters.

Working on positive relationships with your niche market that result in solid trust in you can be difficult and take time. All businesses need goals, and acquiring trust is a worthwhile goal, but you do need real goals that work with your business.
